Fireman's Breakfast

Yesterday morning we went to the Fireman's Breakfast in Ely. It was an hour plus wait in line in the insane heat to be served breakfast by the fireman. Sawyer loved the firetrucks and was in complete awe of the firemen. He was beyond excited when one of the guys let him wear his helmet!

Hello Grade 6!

Today was Sami's 5th grade graduation. Sawyer, Chelsea, Kelly, my dad and I went to Wilson for the little ceremony and party. Sawyer calls Wilson HIS school, so he was thrilled to be there...he basically thought the party was for him!! When Sami walked out on stage, Sawyer yelled her name. It was pretty funny! After the party, I took Sami and Sophie Mae out for a couple pictures in a field near my parents' house. Both in dresses and both clean--that doesn't happen very often!

Sawyer Good Boy..Charlie..Blue Karate Kid!!

Rarely does Sawyer answer to just Sawyer anymore. Instead, he wants to be called Sawyer Good Boy, Charlie (the main character in Mighty Ducks), or Blue Karate Kid. I am no longer Mama... I am Mama Kerry Ann. Cameron is Daddy Cameron. Sophie Mae is ALWAYS Sophie Mae--you can never shorten it! We don't know how this started or how long it will go on but we just go with it!

Carter's Birthday

Carter celebrated his 11th birthday yesterday. Sawyer is nuts about Carter. Almost daily he tells me that he loves Carter so much. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from Carter's day:

Happy Easter!

It was a wonderful weekend. I enjoyed it very much. The day before Easter we colored eggs, ate taco pizza and just hung out. Sawyer got a kick out of the eggs. His color of choice was BLUE. Everything blue. Sophie Mae wasn't really sure what was going on but she had fun. On Easter Cameron and I hid eggs in our backyard and later had dinner at my mom and dad's house. We kept candy to a minimum. That is something we did not want to emphasize too much. It was funny, my mom gave the kids an apple, bananas and small cereal boxes. Sawyerwas thrilled--he loves picking out a new cereal everyday. He feels ultra important! Sophie Mae was a sweetheart. She followed Sawyer around the yard and was fun to watch. He was thrilled that the Easter Bunny left one of his favorite movies--UP. Or, The balloon movie as he calls it. UP and Toy Story are in heavy rotation these days!

I know I say this all the time but Sawyer is such a character. He says the funniest things--he totally cracks me up! Today I took him to Menards and while we were checking out he asked if I would by him Peeps. For the record, I hate Peeps but went ahead and bought them (he had never had them before). He was so excited so we opened the package in the car. He took one bite, spit it out and said, "Mama, I don't like those cheesy farshfellows!" It was hilarious.

Yesterday Sawyer went to lunch with Carter and Kristy at Carter's school. He was beyond thrilled to go to school and see his favorite friend. He talked about it all night!

The Mr. and his Mrs.

Chelsea turned 21 on February 8th. Wow, 21! We celebrated on her day with spaghetti and of course, cake. Sawyer and Sophie Mae were still in birthday mode and each had to blow out the candle several times. This weekend the party continued with sushi at The Sushi House and bar hopping in Czech Village. It was pretty fun. We loved being able to take Chelsea out (and keep an eye on her)! We met some interesting characters, got some interesting video footage and pictures (ahem, Kristy!)--what a great time. The mustaches were a hit! (Sawyer calls them 'papas' and loves to play with them too). I realized I am not cut out for late nights anymore. Even with very little drinking, I was pretty much out of commission the next day. Happy Birthday, Chelsea!

Our girl is ONE!

I cannot believe it has been a year since we were blessed with Ms. Sophie Mae. She is such a fun, sweet girl. She has a special talent and can turn on the charm or tears at a moments notice. She is already the queen of the eye roll. Really. If you tell her no or just look at her when she is doing something she knows she should not be doing, she gives the longest, most deliberate eye roll. It is so funny. I am in trouble! She loves to talk. She loves the phone. She loves her brother. And his toys. She loves to dance--she has the best little shimmy dance. Love it. And her.

Yesterday we went to Carter's Junior RoughRider hockey tournament. Sawyer has been to the rink quite a few times and loves--or as he says--lubs hockey. He has skates, pads, sticks and a jersey. He is ready to skate! Everyone at the rink knows Sawyer--it is quite funny to see the boys and parents say hi to him.
