One of the last things my grandfather said to me was, "Will you miss me?" I said, "Yes, every day of my life." And I do miss him so much. At night I close my eyes and think of his smile. I don't want to forget that smile. If you knew him, you knew what a great man he was--he touched everyone. He was a stubborn guy but so wonderful, active and happy. I am thankful for the time I had with him over the last few years. I will cherish the trips my mom and I took driving him up and down the coast. I will always remember the last few years with him at my parent's house. He was so loved and filled the house with joy. I will also cherish that my grandfather and Sawyer got to meet. The week he died, Grandpa said he loved Sawyer very much and that he knew he would be a great man. It was such an honor to hear that from him. We miss you, Grandpa!
